My name is Henry Lee, I am a 7th generation, 17-year-old cabinet maker and aspiring arborist. 

I started Blockworks uk to try and providea range of quality stabilised handle materials to craftspeople at a competitive price, since opening in February 2021 things have expanded exceptionally well, I import some of the finest rosewoods and ebony's, exhibition grade Australian hardwoods and some of the best dyed woods in the UK. I have continued to improve the stabilisation process and have established connections around the globe to acquire the best possible selection of timbers. I stock hundreds of different woods from around the globe, all of the processes are completed in house, from milling, vacuum drying, stabilising, and polishing. 

I started woodturning at the start of the first UK lockdown and fell in love with it, since then I have continued to progress. I got talking to a few young knife makers who encouraged me to start this endevour. 

As wood is a scarce resource, I only buy from small sawmills who focus on quality not quantity. Before I make any purchase, I check where the wood has come from, how it was harvested and how old it is. I will only purchase wood that has either been reclaimed or very sustainably sourced, sometimes I have the option to buy old stock which has been in the UK for at least 30 years and is pre-CITIES  

With continual investment in new kit, I posses the best equipment for professional stabilisation in the uk with a mixture of High vacuum vacuum pumps (-29.52Hg), custom manifolds and high pressure pressure chambers (450PSI), I have the largest and best throughput of blocks in the uk, providing an unbeatable quality every time.
