All of our products are professionally stabilised in-house at our workshop in the North East of the UK
About Us
Building on a foundation of deep Arboricultural, Chemical and Polymeric knowledge, we have grown to a team of 3 operating from a custom built workshop in the North East of the UK. What began with a commitment to solving a fundamental maker's challenge has evolved into a large-scale, technologically sophisticated operation processing thousands of unique blanks annually for a global clientele. There is huge amounts of continuous R&D behind our custom systems and XCD process, ensuring we set the standard for an industry we helped define. We operate at the intersection of advanced polymer chemistry and traditional material craftsmanship.
Our Technical Foundation
Superior outcomes are the product of controlled, repeatable processes. We have moved beyond adaptation of commercial systems to develop a fully integrated, proprietary stabilisation platform. Our facility is centered on custom engineered vacuum, pressure and thermal management systems, designed and built to our specifications to exert precise control over every critical variable. This infrastructure enables the execution of our advanced Xylemic Cavitational Delipidation (XCD) pre-treatment and subsequent multi-stage resin infusion cycles with a level of consistency that is unattainable with standard equipment. This ensures that each piece, from a small pen blank to a larger-scale architectural element, undergoes an identical transformation.
Global Sourcing and Operational Scale
Material integrity begins at origin. To provide an unparalleled selection, we maintain a direct sourcing network spanning 34 countries, allowing for the selective procurement of exceptional and stable species from sustainable sources. This supports our capacity to process around 6,000 blocks annually for a worldwide clientele. Our operational scale is a function of demand for reliability, not an end goal, it is the framework that allows for rigorous quality control, dedicated research, and the fulfillment of contracts ranging from bespoke artisan projects to larger wholesale pieces.
Our Role as an Innovation and Development Partner
We define our work through a commitment to material advancement. Our team engages in continuous refinement of resin chemistries, polymerisation kinetics, and substrate preparation techniques. This development is often driven by collaborative challenges presented by our clients, whether optimising for specific mechanical properties, enhanced thermal tolerance, or particular aesthetic outcomes. We function as an extension of our clients' R&D, providing the material certainty that allows creative and engineering vision to be realized without compromise.
The Outcome: Dimensionally Stable Engineered Substrates
The result of this integrated approach is not merely "stabilised wood." We provide an engineered composite material with documented performance characteristics. By converting the variable, hygroscopic nature of wood into a stable, isotropic substrate, we eliminate a primary source of risk in fabrication. This allows craftsmen, designers, and engineers to work with exquisite natural material, secure in its dimensional permanence and mechanical behavior.
