Black palm #1
Black palm is a very interesting timber
It is not actually a wood, it is a grass.
Palm is a monocotyledon (only has one seed or leaf) whereas every other tree is a dicotyledon (two or more seeds/flowers/leaves)
This leads to a very interesting structure, super dense black fibres with a very soft white pith. The stabilising hardens the whole structure and turns it from a very difficult material to work with into something that takes a stunning polish and is lovely to work with
