Leadwood is perhaps the best wood to start off with when making knives, I have recommended it to hundreds of people and will continue because of it’s wonderful properties.
It is nice and dense, easy to grind, easy to hand sand, takes an amazing polish and feels incredible in the hand.
It is an amazing timber that I would absolutely recommend trying
