Ringed gidgee is a favourite of knifemakers worldwide, It's a super dense, fine grained, stable member of the Acacia family from the particularly arid zones of Australia. Many blocks show excellent curl figure along with quilt, making the wood complex figured. As these blocks are shaped, interesting figure interactions will show in the grain. The wood does not need stabilising, and is dense enough to sink in water.
